Summer is the time for bright, fun and pretty colors and if you are having trouble finding the right color combinations for your room, take a peak at a color wheel.
Complementary colors
Hues on the opposite side of the color wheel are complementary colors. Use the same intensity of blue and orange for a stylish combination.
Analogous colors
Combine two or three colors on the color wheel for a harmonious look. Red, orange and yellow go great together.
Monochromatic color
Varying the intensity of a single color can create a beautiful combination. Pair a dark, medium, and light shade of your favorite colors for a soothing color scheme.
Colors Defined
Red is bold. It is an intense color that exudes passion, vitality, and drama. Red makes a great accent color.
Blue is magical. It is uplifting and peaceful, but it can also be stimulating and electric in strong cobalt and indigo shades. Blue serves as an elegant hue on a backsplash or as a bold line in a tile shower.
Green is natural. The fresh feel of green can be as zesty as a lime or as exotic as a jade. Muted olive tones are classic, while brighter shades offer a more contemporary look. Accessories such as fabrics, ceramics, tiles, or small appliances are great in green.
Yellow is luminous. This sunny shade makes a room feel light and cheery. It can be soft and delicate as a wall or cabinetry color or rich and golden as an accent piece.
